Megan Griffith
(Her) smile lights up the room and gets the whole place grinning...

Megan loves to teach yoga as a means to help transform people's lives-mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally. She first got bitten by the “yoga bug” about 12 years ago and has been happily teaching for the past seven.

Megan’s studies have spanned the globe with fabulous and inspiring teachers, including Sri K Pattabhi Jois (Ashtanga Yoga); Rodney Yee (Iyengar Yoga); Bikram Choudhury (Bikram Yoga); and Doug Keller (Anusara Yoga). She has also completed teacher trainings with Baron Baptiste, Shiva Rea, Kimberly Wilson/Tranquil Space, and Tim Miller.

Megan has a vibrant personality and gives generously of her bright spirit. She believes that yoga is one of the most powerful ways that a person can nurture the following characteristics in their being: a strong and supple body; an open and joyful heart; a peaceful and focused mind; and a deep level of restfulness paired with a heightened sense of vitality and well-being.

Come try one of Megan's classes to be consistently taken to your growing edge…while smiling and maybe even laughing along the way! She'll give you lots of encouragement and support while gracefully linking posture to posture with breath and a passion for the practice.

Megan is currently working and living in St. Louis but teaches at Flow on occasion- please check the special events page for details.

  Jeanne M. Campbell
Jeanne began practicing yoga to help with a lower back injury which had sidelined her from the very demanding equestrian sport of eventing. As Jeanne stepped away from her competing career, she wasn’t sure anything could ever really fill that void. Amazingly, yoga did…and thus began the journey that has transformed Jeanne physically, emotionally and spiritually. Jeanne’s energy and passion for her practice have led her down this exciting path of teaching yoga. Jeanne has been teaching for three years and is a registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance. Additionally, she has studied under master teachers such as Shiva Rea, Baron Baptiste, Dharma Mitra, David Life, Seane Corn, Gregor Singleton, Kimberly Wilson, Simon Park, Maria Garre and is currently pursuing additional certification through Shiva Rea’s Prana Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training Program. Her style incorporates a fun and lively vinyasa flow that is primarily influenced by both Shiva Rea and Baron Baptiste. Off her mat, Julia enjoys spending time with her husband Doug and their two labrador retrievers. She likes to run and play racquetball any chance she gets. In her quieter moments, Julia enjoys crocheting and beading, and is currently designing a line of malas (prayer beads) and yoga-inspired jewelry. Julia is also a Certified Nutritionist, and you can often find her whipping up a new recipe in the kitchen.

  Cindy Deugo Carlyle
Cindy took her first yoga class in 2005 thinking that it would help her aching back. Little did she know it would start her on a journey of learning more about her body and herself than she thought possible! She has three university degrees, one in exercise physiology, one in psychology, and one in education. Teaching is something she has done for almost 30 years (from high school science and P.E to Pilates and Spin classes) and she aspires to teach yoga as well as she has taught other things in her life.

Her goal is to teach and speak from satya....to bring out the very best in others. Yoga provides Cindy the opportunity to help her fulfill her purpose...to encourage people to give birth to things they may not know are inside them...to be a midwife to the human spirit through the vehicle of the body.

Her athletic background is in flatwater kayak and triathlon. Yoga has shown her how to put her body and spirit back into a balance that years of training took away...to find peace in stillness and connection in her practice. Cindy has two teenage children that she adores and two dogs that remind her what it is to love unconditionally.

  Elaine Bartholomew
Elaine has been practicing Ashtanga Yoga since 2000, she was initially drawn to the dynamic, challenging aspect of this ancient system of yoga, however, she soon became aware of the beneficial effect it was having on her mind and body, and has been practicing regularly ever since. She soon wanted to share the practice with others so that they could also reap the rewards that she had enjoyed. In 2002 Elaine completed David Swenson’s Ashtanga Teacher Training program. Elaine also holds the Yoga Alliance RYT200 certification which she completed at Flow Yoga in 2006 Elaine has studied in Europe and America with many world renowned yoga masters including John Scott, Danny Paradise, Annie Pace, Liz Lark and many more.   Andrew McAuley
Andrew took his first steps down the path of yoga at the age of 17. He fell in love with the spiritual aspects of the practice and focused his studies on life's higher purpose and personal growth, finding a strong appreciation for the teachings of Hinduism, Buddhism and Taoism. At 26, Andrew was inspired to increase his knowledge and personal practice of yoga. It was this spark that led him to Flow Yoga in Leesburg, VA where he studied under Kate Vickers and Rochelle Traupe in order to achieve his 200+ hr yoga teaching certification. Andrew owns his own massage therapy practice, Epidauria: Wholistic Healing Centre of Leesburg, where he has cultivated a familiarity with Anatomy and Physiology that allows him to better honor and respect the state of the body during yoga practice. Andrew is now a newly appointed member of the teaching faculty at Flow Yoga in Leesburg, VA. His ongoing adventure down the path of yoga has led him to start his 500+ hr certification through Shiva Rea's Prana Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training.

Andrew's first rule for teaching is compassion. He works hard to create a sense of fellowship and community in his classes. He welcomes the opportunity to lead students of any level into a deeper realization of their personal journey through yoga. He believes that the harmonious connection between the physical and spiritual self created through the action of yoga gives us balance which we can incorporate into our fast paced, day-to-day lives. When you come to one of Andrew's classes, expect to be greeted with distinct laughter and a warm smile. His classes embark on a creative journey of the Power Vinyasa Flow, but don't forsake the simplicity of the foundations of the asanas. If you want a class where you can explore the infinite potential of the human experience from the safety and security of your yoga mat, allow Andrew to be your guide. Be Inspired!

Maria has studied with many Master teachers in both Yoga and Pilates, but has been studying mostly with Shiva Rea and currently serves as the Coordinator for her Teacher Training Program as well as traveling world-wide as a Senior Teaching Assistant.   Tara Campbell
Tara intuitively knew she was going to be a yoga teacher before she ever committed to a serious practice. As an Exercise Science major in college, she taught a yoga class for one of her finals and told them this is what she was going to be. The journey began while studying abroad in Sweden in 2002, where she took her first yoga class. She was immediately hooked to the Ashtanga Yoga vinyasa system. She had always been an athlete, but she was taken aback at how amazing she felt physically, mentally and, as she would learn, spiritually, as well. In the fall of 2004 she had the honor and privilege to travel to Mysore, India, to study under the living guru of Ashtanga yoga, Sri K Pattabhi Jois. Upon returning to the States, she moved to Encinitas, California to study under one of Ashtanga's master teachers, Tim Miller. During the Spring of 2006, she attended The Shoshoni Ashram, near Boulder, Colorado, to get her 200hr yoga teacher certification. She is currently planning to go back to Mysore during the Summer of '08.

Today her teaching style is a mix of Ashtanga and power vinyasa flow, influenced by many schools of yoga and her own personal practice. At Flow she will concentrate on teaching an Ashtanga Flow/Improv style class with oppurtunities to break down and explore the Ashtanga series. Her classes will be fun and uplifting while honoring the spiritual and meditative aspects of the practice. Tara credits her teachers as being Pattabhi Jois, and his grandson, Sharath, of India, and Tim Miller and Rich McGowan of California. She hopes that as her teachers have taught her, she can inspire her students to develop their own personal practice, and to have the courage to consistently follow their dreams, everyday.

When Tara is not practicing or dreaming about all things yoga, you can find her at her new home in Leesburg playing with her two boys, her partner, Mark, and their new rescue puppy, Phoenix “Jax”.

  Beth Ayers
Many yoga practitioners begin yoga because of pain or injury. This was the case for Beth. Ten years ago she was troubled by plantar fasciitis (heel pain) as well as TMJ (jaw pain). She began to study Bikram Yoga and immediately saw the connection of the 2 ailments due to existing imbalances in her body. After 3 years of following a strict Bikram practice, Beth changed her focus to a more breath and flow style yoga. In 2001 Beth became certified by the White Lotus Foundation of Santa Barbara, CA. She has since studied Pranayama and Advanced Teacher Training with Ganga White and Tracy Rich. Their non-dogmatic approach to yoga allows for exploration and modifications. Beth believes everyone can practice yoga regardless of their limitations due to injuries, either temporary or permanent. Her classes are based on the “Flow Series” with attention to breath, alignment and graceful movements. Although this practice can be vigorous, attention is given to individuals that need time to increase awareness, strength and stamina.

  Bonnie Turner
Bonnie found her true calling as a teacher when she began teaching group exercise classes in 1998. She quickly branched out into yoga and pilates which led her to pursue formal trainings in both disciplines. She completed her yoga studies through Shiva Rea’s Prana Vinyasa Flow 200-hour program and is a Registered Yoga Teacher. She also holds an Advanced Certification from Power Pilates and has over 600 hours of training in the classical pilates method. Bonnie loves the strength, freedom, and expressive creativity of yoga, and enjoys incorporating the precision and control of pilates into her vinyasa flow classes. She incorporates exciting music, exhilarating flow and most importantly—fun!—into each and every practice.

  Ricky Rodriguez
Ricky Rodriguez, Registered Yoga Teacher and Associate Baptiste Instructor, began studying yoga from books at fourteen. Since then, he practiced yoga on his own until in 2001 he discovered the Baptiste Power Vinyasa Flow and has been "hooked" on it since. He's trained at Downdog Yoga in Washington DC and with Baron Baptiste. Ricky sees yoga not only as a physical practice but also as "the ability to direct and focus mental activity" (sutra 1.2). He sees teaching yoga as a labor of love and service that naturally flows from his personal practice. Ricky also loves to kayak.

  Mary Flowers
Mary first began taking Ashtanga Yoga classes in 2001 and was immediately hooked. From her first experience with yoga, she loved it and began to consider teaching. She left her job as an IT consultant in 2004 to be a stay-home mother. While her job as a stay-home mom is very fulfilling and fun, she felt she needed something for herself. She enrolled and recently completed the 200-hour teacher training at Flow Yoga with Maria Garre. In her Vinyasa Yoga classes she hopes to help people find that same joy that she experiences in practicing yoga. Mary lives in Ashburn with her husband Rob their two daughters Sydney and Maggie.

  Kelli Audibert
Kelli discovered her favorite pose, Virabhdrasana 3, in a yoga introduction class in college. Since then she has been exploring her edge, trying out different yoga styles. She found her niche by taking classes from Flow Yoga owner Megan Griffith while working at AOL. She always knew she wanted to be a teacher and share with others the joy yoga brings to her. She is currently completing her yoga studies through Shiva Rae’s Prana Vinyasa Flow 200-hour program.

  Chris Brindley (massage therapist)
Chris graduated from Maui School of Therapeutic Massage in Hawaii. He became interested in massage through his own marathon training as he found it to be effective in correcting muscular imbalances and overuse injuries related to the knees and hips. Massage treatments kept his problem areas under control; allowing him to run the high mileage necessary to qualify for the Boston Marathon. In addition, Chris found that receiving massage helped him to better understand his own body, which inspired an interest in the human muscular system.

His background includes a strong understanding of human anatomy, experience as a personal trainer, and a fitness background including distance running, swimming, strength training, and yoga. Chris combines his personal athletic experience with his education to alleviate the pains involved with both recreational or competitive athletes. He uses a combination of techniques including Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi for a relaxing, yet effective massage focused on lasting pain relief for the client's individual needs.
